About the Gallery

Gallery Virtual Tour

EXPRESSIONS Gallery, located on Cape Cod at 578 Main St. in Chatham, showcases the coastal photography of Steven Koppel and serves as headquarters for the EDI Institute.

This gallery embodies much of what Steve is passionate about, providing opportunities to witness:

  • Expressions of Steve’s experiences on the tidal flats and beaches of Cape Cod
  • Expressions of the beauty of Cape Cod’s natural resources, and the importance of their preservation and protection
  • Expressions of healing and resilience through the work of the EDI Institute

EXPRESSIONS Gallery is also home for Steve’s retreats and seminars and a venue for educational programs focused on photography and the environment. All images on the “Across the Cape” page of this site can be viewed in person at the gallery, and all others can be ordered in custom sizes.

The Story Behind the Gallery

This short video brings the gallery’s art and philanthropy to life, including behind the scenes footage of Steve creating imagery in the field.

About the Team

Amy Jasperson is the newest member of the EXPRESSIONS team, working closely with Steve to provide all gallery visitors with meaningful and gratifying experiences. After moving to the mid-Cape with her family during Covid-19, Amy’s first book purchase for their coffee table was Steve’s book of images of the Cape Cod National Seashore. A graduate of Wellesley College with a double major in Art History and Political Science, Amy is inspired by Steve’s visual expressions of the Cape’s sky, sand, and sea. Originally from Central Massachusetts, she creates stained glass and mixed media art inspired by nature on the Cape, cares about clean water and natural preservation, and enjoys spending time near the water every day.
